The History
Steven Bell performed as a multi-instrumentalist with a variety of original and cover bands over many years and had always been fascinated by the recording process. Having recorded a few of his own songs in studios and later with a modest home system he was asked to record some local acts. After the third project he was hooked.
Soon the business grew beyond the capabilities of the single room and it was time to expand.
He collaborated with Ross Nyberg on the overall purpose and layout then engaged the services of studio architect George Hallowell, A.I.A. for the detailed structural and acoustic plans.
The grand opening was in November 2008
Learning the Craft
In the early days Steven read and contributed to the Cakewalk newsgroup. There he picked up a lot of great information about building computer systems for audio recording, microphones, miking techniques, and mixing.
He was always eager to learn more and to get better, so he found read several books on mixing and mastering.
Over the years he has worked as a beta tester for Cakewalk, Waves and Antares because he wanted to improve the tools he uses.
